Have you ever struggled with your calling?

You know what you want to do but no matter how hard you try you’re either still spinning your wheels trying to achieve it or you’ve simply had to give up on it? You internalize that feeling of getting knocked down again and again which has made you wonder if there is any silver lining left on the horizon?

For some it’s even deeper because your marriage is crumbling. Your job doesn’t fill your cup. Or you are just emotionally checked out for any number of reasons.

You know it’s not the right thing for you, but nothing you do seems to work. It feels like life is a hamster wheel going nowhere.

If this doesn’t describe yourself, I bet it does describe someone in your sphere.

As men we all want a mission and a purpose. But too often we don’t have the clarity to know what it is and when it’s time.

John Eldredge put it this way in his book, Wild at Heart:

Deep in his heart every man longs for a battle to fight, an adventure to live, and a beauty to rescue.

If you don’t feel like this is true of your life, it’s time to create it.

But first… God.

Another great quote from Eldredge:

We need clarity and we need it badly. A simple prayer rises from my heart: Jesus, take away the fog and the clouds and the veil, and help me to see . . . give me eyes to really see.

Eyes to see.

Be a man who SEES and THINKS clearly on all the issues, or start surrounding yourself with the men that do.

I’ve met far too many men (and even been one in this way myself) that can’t hear or see anything positive around because there’s so much negativity shouting to your core causing you to drift away from the values you should be holding onto.

This is your encouragement to not sit on the sidelines.

First: figure out exactly who you are, what you believe, and what calling has been put on your life, before you burn out completely.

Second: Find someone else in your sphere that’s struggling and be the friend in their corner that’s encouraging and lifting them up too. After all it’s the Golden Rule.

Courage

You must not hold yourself back. All the way back in Deuteronomy we were called to be courageous. I loved seeing one of the more viral clips of Charlie Kirk recently when asked how he wanted to be remembered:

“I want to be remembered for courage for my faith. That would be the most important thing. The most important thing is my faith.”

Charlie Kirk

So how do we get more courage and exhibit a bolder faith?

Develop DEEP convictions about who you are and what you believe.

Get around more people on the daily that can speak into your life while you also speak into theirs. Remember your calling vs. your gifting.

If you are a single man, your calling is to love God first then love others. If you are a married man, your calling is to love God first, then love your wife by showing her that love, and then love others. And if you are married with kids, your calling is to love God first, love and adore your wife and show her that love on the daily, love and be present with your kids, and then love others.

As James once declared to us: “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above.”

Men, we serve a God Who is filled with grace, goodness, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and so much more. And it is your job to reflect that for those around us to see. A true man on the move activating his faith, leading his family and building his business knows how to do these things and why he must do it all in a way that honors the Lord.

And it all starts with courage.

Call to Action

One Big Takeaway This Week

Every man is called to courage. Fear whispers lies, discouragement blinds, and negativity drags you off mission — but courage keeps you moving forward in faith.

👉 Ask God for strength. When you feel small, unseen, or hesitant, stop and pray:

“Lord, fill me with courage to stand firm in my faith, to love my family faithfully, and to reflect Your goodness in a world full of noise.”

And then take the first step. Courage grows every time you act in faith, not fear.

Business & Leadership

I love hearing Founder stories and today in honor of Charlie Kirk once again, I wanted to share his recent interview with Andrew K. Smith who runs Savory Fund which invests in emerging food & beverage concepts across America. Well worth the watch.

Noah Kagan. who wrote Million Dollar Weekend had this to say last year when it comes choosing to stay an employee or build a company:

I wholeheartedly agree and it’s why I spent years working up the courage to stop chasing my dreams and start building them. Now it’s why I’m so passionate in helping others do the same.

We need more men on the move building businesses on the move, especially faith-driven men who are productive members of society. That’s my hope for you and our community here at Soulfire. I want this space to be one you can be inspired, encouraged and challenged as you dive deeper into being a man on the move activating your faith, leading your family and building your business.

I’m in your corner this week and rooting for you to take action and effect change!

See you next week,
